NAI DESCO was formed in June 2000 when several experienced brokers from other firms partnered with the Schnuck family to create a new independent commercial real estate brokerage firm. Since its founding, NAI DESCO has grown to a total of 14 brokers.

NAI DESCO's sister company, The DESCO Group was transformed in 1993 from a corporate real estate department (formerly of Schnuck Markets) into a full-service commercial real estate company. The DESCO Group still manages, leases and develops the Schnuck Markets portfolio, although the company has found success in the development of non grocery anchored retail centers as well as other real estate sectors. In order to maximize the services The DESCO Group was able to offer its clients, NAI DESCO was formed as a vehicle to expand into the brokerage of office, industrial, retail and investment properties.
