The
Opportunity > Access
The site has unparalleled access to interstates, freight rail networks, an
international airport and a port.
Interstates:
St. Louis is positioned as a major interstate hub. The site is located just moments from the intersection of I-270, St. Louis’s outer belt, and I-44. From I-270, interstates connect St. Louis to the west coast via Kansas City and Denver; the east coast via Indianapolis; New Orleans via Memphis; Atlanta via Nashville; and to Chicago. Additionally, I-44 carries traffic to Texas via Oklahoma City.
Freight Rail:
The site features one of the best rail access points in the St. Louis area. Immediately adjacent to the site is the Burlington Junction Railway Transload Facility, which allows freight to be transferred from rail to truck or truck to rail. Also adjacent to the site is a link to the BNSF railroad, the second largest freight railroad network in North America. The BNSF network owns and operates track in 27 states and connects St. Louis to the western two-thirds of the country, as well as the west coast of Canada.
Lambert International Airport:
The site is less than 20 miles from Lambert International; approximately a 25 minute drive. The airport is served by 13 major passenger carriers and
four international cargo carriers. City of St. Louis Port:
The port is the third largest inland port in the Midwest and features over 100 docking facilities and 16 public terminals. It sits on the Missouri side of the Mississippi River and is the northernmost port on the Mississippi that remains ice-free and open year round. The port provides unimpeded river access to New Orleans, as well as immediate access to interstates I-70, I-55, I-44, and I-64.
Approximately 29 industrial centers with combined populations of 90 million can be reached by barge from St. Louis.
